About the Chapel

Stoke Row Chapel is a small independent chapel at the heart of village life. It is grateful for a long heritage, but its concern is not simply to preserve the past: it seeks to be a living church in the present, worshipping God, growing in grace, and serving neighbours in the name of Christ.

Our Story

The present chapel building was completed in 1815, but the congregation’s roots go back further, into the seventeenth century. For generations, Christians have gathered here to worship, pray, hear God’s Word, and encourage one another in the life of faith.

Throughout its history, the chapel has been part of the fabric of village life. It has offered not only regular worship, but also friendship, pastoral care, and a place where people may seek God, ask questions, and find support.

What we believe

At the centre of chapel life is the good news of Jesus Christ. Stoke Row Chapel seeks to teach the Bible faithfully, to live prayerfully and lovingly, and to point people to the hope, forgiveness, and new life that are found in Him.

Our ethos

The chapel is sometimes described as “The Little Church with a Warm Heart.” That phrase reflects a desire to hold truth and love together: to be faithful to Scripture, open in friendship, and ready to serve together as friends and neighbours.

Meet the Minister

The minister of Stoke Row Chapel is Rev. Mark Taylor, who has served the chapel since 2016. His ministry includes preaching, pastoral care, leadership, and helping the chapel continue its witness in the village and beyond.

Leadership and Governance

As an independent chapel, Stoke Row Chapel is overseen by an annually elected Chapel Council. Its affairs are handled with care and responsibility, including the stewardship of finances, safeguarding, and the practical work needed to support the chapel’s ongoing life and ministry.
